HyperWhisper checks for updates automatically and installs them with a single click. You don’t need to babysit version numbers.
HyperWhisper uses Sparkle, the standard auto-update framework for Mac apps.

Automatic updates

On launch (and periodically while running), the app checks the appcast at https://www.hyperwhisper.com/appcast.xml. When a new version is available, you’ll see a prompt with the release notes — click Install Update and HyperWhisper relaunches into the new version.

Checking manually

Click the menu bar icon and choose Check for Updates…. If you’re on the latest version, you’ll see a confirmation. Otherwise the update prompt appears.

Disabling auto-checks

If you’d rather control update timing yourself, untick Automatically check for updates in the Sparkle dialog. You can still trigger a manual check at any time via Check for Updates….

Release channels

HyperWhisper currently ships a single stable channel — there’s no separate beta or insider track. Releases go through internal testing before being pushed to all users. If you want to be notified when a new version ships, follow us on LinkedIn.

Rolling back

If a new release breaks something for you, please email support@hyperwhisper.com with details — that’s the fastest way to get a fix out, and we can point you to the previous installer in the meantime.
